I have the weirdest taste in celebrity crushes, but maaaaan Richard Engel talking foreign policy really does it for me.

Q: Should I post to [insanejournal.com profile] treatyoselves to get help deciding what to keep from my Boden order, or just once I decide what part of the haul will be staying with me? Happy news: The size 8 beautiful emerald green boucle skirt was markedly too large! My ass is now a size 6! Victory is mine! Sad news: Boden doesn't have this color in size 6 anymore, so my options are to keep this one and tailor it, get a 6 in boring black or navy to see if it fits, or bid it farewell.

I have a lot of invol feels right now, but whenever I try to put them down on metaphorical internet paper I wind up typing a big paragraph and then going "No, that's not right," and deleting it.

I am glad someone else has the Boden love. Sad that you can't get the skirt you want in your color though.

I started off just putting things in my cart because I was like "Yes, I would like to try that on and possibly own it!" - - the total was something like $6044, and I thinned it down to $1993 and I think I'll keep maaaaybe $500. >.>

Yeah, I just dropped about $200 on sale there myself. (That's this month.)

Also that's a nice skirt.

I like it, I think I'm going to keep it and have it tailored! And a dress that was on clearance and a couple lighter weight sweater tops.

I got the kimono sweater top. I love their wrap tops; they flatter busty gals.

Whenever I wear wrap or deep v-style tops it's usually like WHOAHTITS so I usually stick to sweaters or lighter knitwear that can stretch a bit and cover things up without getting inappropriate?

Yeah, I have to wear a tank or a cami underneath to avoid cleavage central but I'm in the cup range where I'm extremely boobalicious no matter what I do. The vertical lines in the wrap lengthen my torso a lot, which helps with my short waist.

I always get a lot of compliments when I wear wrap tops, and not from guys, either.

34DD here, but I usually manage to pass it off as like, a full C or a light D. I've got an extremely long torso all around so a lot of the times the intended empire waist of wrap tops actually goes a couple inches higher up, fitting just close to the apex of my breasts, and that makes it look like they're too big to fit in the shirt?

I'm currently wearing 36DD and I suspect I should be a 34 band and a larger cup (the center of my bra doesn't always rest against my chest properly). I have a very short waist and I'm slung way low in the chest department and was even before gravity set in. I have to be careful with empire tops proper because of where the under-bust line falls, which as you say isn't always under the bust, but wrap (really faux wrap) tops serve me well.

This is a top that looks fantastic on me but again, cami/tank required for decency.

Yeah mine are perky enough that I wouldn't need a bra for support unless I planned on jogging, but it would garner a lot of side-eye looks, I imagine. Different tops for different bodies. :D Also, if you're anywhere near a Nordstrom, that's where I go for bra fittings and swear by them and send other people there. They have 'fit bras' that you try on and they adjust to determine your size; so it's not like awkward measuring tape fondling or flashing them the girls. And you can say like, "here's the problem I have now with my current bra," and they'll say "Oh okay!" and bring you back half a dozen options that likely solve the problem.

Oops let me turn back into me before I comment!

My last fitting was at Macy's, but you've just sold me on Nordstrom.

And OMG I can't remember when I didn't last need a bra for daily wear. Generally an underwire bra. The girls weren't that perky when I was in college.

LOL, I didn't always wear a bra when I started college and then by the end I needed to. I was a B at the beginning, when I left I was a D. My freshman 15 was basically split between bosom and thighs.

Actually now that you say that I remember getting a lecture from my mother on a rare occasion when I went out without one (when I was living at home after my dad died) because mine was in the wash. "You're not going out like that, are you?"

I gain the same way but more on my butt.

skirt on Boden's website, skirt on me, holding handfuls of material behind my back to try to show what it would be like tailored.

He is clever and articulate and kind of a dreamboat. You may not share that last point of enthusiasm, but yeeeeep.
