Family, I hates 'em!

I just got an e-mail from my friend, letting me know that she is, in effect, about to die. She has a really serious medical condition. And I told my mother. And THEN THERE WAS THIS:

Mom: My god. I can't even believe this.
Me: I know, I need to go down there.
Mom: Well let's look into when you can go tonight, and you can talk to work tomorrow.
Me: Yeah.
Sonja: So did anyone come up with something fun for us to go do today?

I'm not kidding. SHE SAID THAT.

Mom: No, we haven't. So, did the doctors give her a time estimate?
Me: No, they can't.
Judy: What does she have?
Me: Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. Basically, the cells in her muscles and bones are deteriorating, which causes a whole host of other problems.
Judy: Oh! Once in an RV campground, we met a guy whose skin had lost all elasticity, and that was supposed to kill him within a few months.

On the plus side, my mother has excused me from whatever they go do so I don't have to put up with more of that crap.
